April 13, 2007, Newsletter Issue #59: What type of foam should I get, Latex or Memory Foam?

Tip of the Week

Memory foam has been getting a great deal of press lately, so many individuals are familiar with its heat-sensitive, reactive qualities. They know that memory foam was engineered by NASA and is 100% synthetic. Natural Latex, on the other hand, is 100% natural and was engineered by the indigenous forests of equatorial countries like Sri Lanka. How do you decide if a latex mattress or a memory foam mattress is the best option for you? There are a few key things to consider. The first is your back health and the second is your susceptibility to allergies. In general, people who are looking to preserve existing back health and fight the presence of allergens in the bedroom would be better off with latex. Those with back or neck problems might want to steer towards memory foam. But ultimately, itīs best to try both and see which material reacts best to your bodies needs and wants.
