If you are sensitive to odors, you may not want to send your old mattresses off with the deliveryman when your new Tempur-pedic mattresses arrive. Often, the new mattresses will have an odor for a few days, similar to the odors that new rugs or vinyl tiles will have. As with other new materials, the odor of the Tempur-pedic mattresses will fade in a few days, but you may want to allow the mattresses to air out for a week before you sleep on them. If you aren't bothered by odors, you can sleep on your mattress immediately, since the odor is not hazardous.
